Class Schedule

Class Duration: 6 hours total
Schedule: 3 days (2.5 hours DTG • 2.5 hours DTF • 2 hours review/certification)

Learn the complete DTG and DTF production workflow using the Brother GTX Pro, Schulze Powder Machine, and Schulze Curing Unit. This course teaches students how to prepare artwork, pretreat garments, manage white ink, print directly on shirts, and create high-quality DTF transfers. Students will also learn proper curing, powder application, troubleshooting methods, and essential daily maintenance routines. Day 2 concludes with a hands-on certification test demonstrating full DTG and DTF proficiency.

Day 01

DTG Fundamentals (2.5 hrs)

What You’ll Learn

1. Getting Started with the DTG

  • DTG workflow overview and safety
  • Preparing artwork using GTX Graphic Lab

2. Printing with White Ink

  • Managing white ink circulation

4. Advanced Placement

  • Loading shirts and adjusting platen height

5. Advanced Decorating Techniques

  • Printing garments using DTG
  • Curing DTG prints using a heat press

6. Daily Maintenance & Upkeep

  • Daily machine maintenance (nozzle checks, capping station care, cleaning cycles) 
  • Understanding humidity requirements for proper printing

Day 02

DTF Workflow (2.5 Hours)

What You’ll Learn

3. Getting Started with DTF (Repeat Day 1A Fundamentals w/ Placement & Decorating Technique)

  • Printing DTF films using the GTX Pro 
  • Applying adhesive powder with the Schulze Powder Machine 
  • Curing films with the automated Schulze Curing Unit

4. Advanced Placement

  • Heat pressing DTF transfers onto apparel 

5. Advanced Decorating Techniques

  • Understanding temperature, pressure, and peel types 
  • Choosing DTG vs. DTF based on fabric type and job requirements

6. Daily Maintenance & Upkeep (DTF Context)

  • Troubleshooting cracking, peeling, color banding, or under-curing
  • Cleaning the machine regularly reiteration

Day 03

Review & Certification Test (2.5 Hrs)

What You’ll do

  • Review DTG & DTF 1 Hour
  • Complete a full DTG print (pretreat → print → cure)
  • Complete a full DTF transfer (print → powder → cure → press)
  • Demonstrate proper safety, setup, and workflow knowledge
  • Show competent machine operation and troubleshooting
  • Submit final projects for evaluation
