Class Duration: 6.5 hours total
Schedule: 2 days (4 hours instruction • 2.5 hour review/certification)

Learn the complete sublimation workflow using the Sawgrass SG1000 and the HPIV Signature Series 7-in-1 tumbler/mug press. This course teaches students how to prepare artwork, print with Sawgrass Print Manager, choose correct materials, tape and wrap substrates properly, and press items such as mugs, tumblers, shirts, and coated blanks. Students will also learn color management, substrate preparation, troubleshooting common issues, and equipment maintenance. Day 2 concludes with a hands-on certification test demonstrating full sublimation proficiency.

Day 01

Sublimation Fundamentals (4 Hrs)

What You’ll Learn

  • Sublimation workflow overview and safety
  • Preparing artwork for sublimation printing
  • Using Sawgrass Print Manager correctly
  • Understanding ICC profiles and color output
  • Printing test sheets and full-color transfers
  • Preparing mugs, tumblers, shirts, and coated blanks
  • Proper taping, wrapping, and alignment techniques
  • Using the 7-in-1 press for mugs, tumblers, and drinkware
  • Pressing flat items with a flat panel heat press (shirts, coasters, metal panels)
  • Understanding time, temperature, and pressure combos
  • Troubleshooting issues such as ghosting, shifting, faded prints, and color issues
  • Basic maintenance for SG1000 and the 7-in-1 press

Day 02

Review & Certification Test (2.5 Hrs)

What You’ll do

  • Review for 1 Hour
  • Print a sublimation transfer using proper settings
  • Prepare and press a mug or tumbler using the 7-in-1 press
  • Press a flat sublimation item (shirt or hard surface)
  • Demonstrate correct time, temperature, pressure, and safety
  • Submit completed items for evaluation
