Schedule: 3 days (4 hours • 4 hours • 2.5 hour)
Learn the complete UV printing workflow using the Roland VersaUV LEF2-300. This course teaches students how to prepare artwork, manage CMYK/White/Gloss layers, set accurate print height, and print on a wide range of rigid materials. Students will also learn rotary printing for cylindrical items such as bottles and tumblers, how to use primers for adhesion, and how to maintain the UV printer. By the end of the course, students will confidently produce both flat and rotary UV-printed items.

Day 01
UV Printing Fundamentals (4 Hrs)
What You’ll Learn
- UV printer setup and safe operation
- Preparing artwork for CMYK, White, and Gloss printing
- Exporting and managing layers through VersaWorks
- Setting print height and using auto object detection
- Printing on flat materials: acrylic, wood, PVC, metal blanks, plastics
- Understanding primers, coatings, and surface prep
- Printing textures and raised gloss effects
- Troubleshooting adhesion, banding, and curing issues
- Daily maintenance: wipers, swabs, waste ink, nozzle checks
- Complete a flat UV-printed item to take home
Day 02
Advanced Rotary + Production Techniques (4 Hrs)
What You’ll Learn
- Rotary attachment setup for tumblers and cylindrical items
- Measuring and aligning curved surfaces
- Printing full wraps and partial wraps
- Layered printing: CMYK + White underbase + Gloss
- Creating jigs and templates for repeatable jobs
- Surface prep for difficult materials
- Troubleshooting height errors, chipping, and surface misalignment
- End-of-day and weekly UV maintenance routines
- Complete a rotary UV-printed item to take home
Day 03
Review & Certification Test (2.5 hrs)
What You’ll do
- Prepare UV artwork and export correctly through VersaWorks
- Set print height for flat and rotary items
- Complete one flat UV print and one rotary UV print
- Demonstrate safe operation and proper maintenance procedures
- Submit final printed items for evaluation
